Redness/Rosacea

Redness/Rosacea

Rosacea is a long-term inflammatory skin condition that typically affects the face. It often starts as flushing that comes and goes but can result in redness, pimples, swelling, and small, superficial, dilated blood vessels. Often the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin are most involved. A red enlarged nose may occur in severe disease, a condition known as rhinophyma.

There are many risk factors for rosacea including exposure to the sun, hormones, spicy food, alcohol, and family history. It can appear in both men and women at any age, occasionally being mistaken for spots or acne. It is a relapsing condition, with symptoms fluctuating in severity. There are many creams that can control rosacea well within in the ZO range, as well as IPL treatment.
