What is CoolSculpting?
Sculpt your body at Hampton clinic with the world-leading fat freezing machine, and the UK’s leading coolsculpting doctor, all set in a luxurious and tranquil woodland estate.
Coolsculpting, also known as cryolipolysis, is a non-invasive fat removal treatment. A machine is used to freeze fat and contour your body, whilst resulting in permanent fat loss. This treatment can be used to reduce large areas of body fat safely and permanently, or in skilful hands, it can be used on smaller areas to beautifully sculpt the body.
Coolsculpting is a relatively painless procedure with very little downtime, you can continue all your normal activities immediately after treatment. It is a popular alternative to liposuction, often with better results, as it involves no surgery, no scars and does not leave saggy skin.
Why Choose Coolsculpting Over Other Treatments?
The world’s number one non-invasive fat reduction system, with over 7 million treatments completed worldwide. It is completed by using the original and most powerful fat freezing device on the market. Coolsculpting is the only fat freezing device that has FDA clearance and CE marking, the safety stamps of approval for medical devices.
The treatment can only be found in doctor-led clinics. Coolsculpting is not a beauty device but a medical machine and many copycat devices have caused freeze burns and permanent scarring. It’s vital you choose all your treatments carefully and ensure your practitioner is experienced.
How Does The Treatment Work?
This revolutionary technology targets and freezes unwanted fat both permanently and safely. You can use CoolSculpting on a wide range of treatment areas on the body, from the stomach and love handles to bingo wings and double chins. Many plastic surgeons are favouring CoolSculpting ahead of liposuction. Take your CoolSculpting treatment even further, and breakdown fat sitting on the surface of the skin with Doctor ZO Skincare cellulite cream.
Hampton Clinic has two body contouring machines which means you can have “dual-sculpting”. Dual-sculpting means you can experience the effectiveness of the coolsculpting in half the time, whilst receiving full results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
The CoolSculpting procedure works by delivering controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin, without harming any other tissues. The frozen fat cells are crystallised, then die.
During the following few weeks the crystallised, fat cells condense and shrink. The bodies scavenger cells remove these dead cells, take them into the bloodstream and excrete them out through the urine, leaving a more sculpted you.
Clinical studies have shown that the fat does not remain in the body and that cholesterol levels do not increase.
What areas can be treated?
CoolSculpting is ideal for people who are within 2 stone of their ideal weight and who have areas of soft pinch-able fat eg:
- Abdomen (tummies and post-baby bulges)
- Muffin tops, love handles and flanks
- Inner and outer thighs
- Bra bulges and back fat
- Upper arms/bingo wings
- Man Boobs
- Double chin
- Banana rolls under buttocks
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment but it is fantastic at de-bulking, sculpting and contouring the body.
What does the treatment involve?
During your free consultation with our doctors, a full medical history will be taken to assess your suitability. The benefits, and any potential side effects, will be discussed in full, and a consent form completed.
- Before treatment, the target areas will be photographed and marked out.
- To begin the treatment the appropriate machine head (the CoolSculpting machine has varying sized heads depending on the body area to be treated) will be positioned on the target area of your body.
- A suction will draw the fat bulge gently into the cooling applicator. The sensation you will feel will be firstly a firm, but gentle pull, and then intense cold. The first 10 minutes may feel strange and uncomfortable, but this will soon subside.
- The treatment will take a total of 35 minutes per area being treated.
- At the end of the treatment, the CoolSculpting applicator will be removed.
- The frozen area will be massaged vigorously for 2 minutes, this massage results in 68% more fat cells being destroyed than if no massage were performed.
How long does it last?
Results look natural and can be seen as early as three weeks after your treatment, with the most dramatic results being seen after one to three months. Your body continues to flush out fat cells for up to 6 months after treatment.
There is a permanent loss of fat cells, CoolSculpting treatment lasts a lifetime, it is a long-term investment!
Is it painful?
During your treatment, a gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area. Vacuum suction draws the tissue into the applicator cup. You may feel pulling, tugging or mild pinching. Controlled cooling is then delivered to the targeted fat so you may feel intense cold, but this sensation typically subsides within 5-10 minutes as the area becomes numb. Many people read, watch movies or sleep during their sessions. At the end of the treatment time, we perform a 2minute massage. Everyone’s experience of this is very different, from describing the areas as being so numb that they can’t feel anything, to being really sore and painful. Occasionally clients may experience a chilblain burning sensation as the area warms up.
Are there any side effects?
You may get bruising. The next day you will feel sore and tender to touch and may have some swelling, this will last only a few days. There can be prolonged numbness lasting several weeks, this is not unpleasant, just an altered sensation, and it always returns to normal.
On day 5 after the treatment, 1 in 5 people will get delayed onset pain. This is where the nerves are just starting to defrost and become oversensitive, the nerves can send shooting pains. Most cases are very mild, but a small number of people can get severe delayed onset pain. This can be managed with neuralgia tablets.
The benefit of this treatment, compared to invasive treatments such as Vaser, Laser Lipo and Liposuction, is that there really is no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, you can drive yourself home, return to work and resume your normal daily activities.
How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on the size of the area to be treated, the number of areas to be treated and the degree of transformation you wish to achieve. Typically, most patients have 2 treatments or more, especially if the treated areas are on opposite sides of the body.
Should you wish to target more than one part of your body our “Treatment to Transformation Programme” delivers maximum fat reduction for total body contouring, which can require up to 12 applicators.
One treatment will eliminate between 20-40% of the fat treated, you can treat the same area more than once if you wish to lose more.
Are you left with loose skin?
If your skin is in good condition it will retract back due to its elasticity. That is the beauty of the gradual loss of fat, it allows the skin to gradually shrink. If, however, you have poor quality skin with lots of stretch marks, there is a risk of skin becoming looser.
Does the fat come back?
This treatment is ideal for people whose weight is stable. Once the fat cells are destroyed they are gone for good. However, if you put weight on, remaining fat cells can get larger. In practice, you find those who do put on weight on find weight goes to other areas, rather than returning to your problematic area.
Is it safe?
Yes. Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than other cells, so the precision cooling affects only fatty tissue leaving the skin and remaining structures unharmed.
The machine also has the safety stamps of approval for medical machines, American FDA clearance, and European CE-marking. These rigorous procedures ensure the machine has proven to be safe and effective.
How much does it cost?
CoolsSculpting is priced per cycle. One cycle is about the size of your hand. The starting price per cycle is £800, but the more areas you treat the more cost-effective it becomes. Package prices come down to £500 per cycles, and if we retreat the same area more than once, we will retreat at £250 per cycle.
Do you guarantee results?
CoolSculpting treatment results follow a normal medical bell-shaped results curve. 92% of people will get a very good result with between 20-40% fat loss, at the far right of the curve you have a few “super-responders” who lose more than 40%. At the bottom end, you get poor responders who get less than 20% loss. We monitor result with before and after photographs. If no result is achieved, then we would do a complimentary retreat treatment.
How long before you see results?
You can start seeing results as early as 3 weeks, however, most people will see their best results by 3 months.
