IPL (Lumecca)

IPL stands for Intense pulsed light. It is used for a number on cosmetic reasons including hair removal, pigmentation, red facial veins, rosacea, and general rejuvenation. Some IPL machines will be designed to treat all problems. You can tailor your IPL machine to treat specific problems making it more powerful.

Our IPL machine is specific for facial veins and pigmentation and does not do hair removal, making it far more effective for these treatments. We have chosen to treat hair removal with laser which again is more specific for that problem.

This treatment is performed by our Senior Aestheticians.

Whilst treating blood vessels and pigment, there is an additional benefit of stimulating our fibroblast to produces more collagen and elastin, resulting in general rejuvenation. It can treat any area of the body. We have 2 IPL hand pieces, one to treat lighter skins, and one to treat darker skins up to skin type 4. Dark Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin are not suitable for IPL.

Lumecca is one of the most powerful IPL machines available. It treats

  • age spots (red/brown pigmentation)
  • Sun damage
  • Vascular lesions (spider veins, port wine stains, leg telangectasia)
  • Rosacea (redness)
  • Freckles
